Pricing

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has set the payment for assigned counsel, pro se and indigents at $3.00 per page, to be paid by the Commonwealth. The Executive Branch charges private lawyers and non-indigent pro se the same amount. We have not raised our prices EVER above those set by the Commonwealth. Each copy of the original is .75 per page.

All transcripts and copies are bound with an Executive Branch printed binder with a see through cover.

If you tell us the amount of tapes you need transcribed and the format then we can estimate a total cost for the transcript. After receipt of the tapes and reviewing them, a closer estimate will be given and one half of the estimated cost should accompany the tapes and the remaining cost is due upon completion of the transcript.

In the case of indigent and assigned counsel, only the proper documentation is needed (see below).

If an attorney is assigned counsel or pro bono, or if the defendant/appellant is pro se or indigent the Commonwealth may pay for the cost of one original and two copies (as well as the copies of the cassette tapes you will have to order).
