a bit of info on certain subjects that i think are misunderstood or not realised the most

i am just starting this page so i don't have much on here yet

i promise there will be more info soon.

Eucharist (the true presence of Jesus in the bread and wine)

scripture:

in John 6 Jesus repeats himself over and over , and I believe because he was really trying to make his point clear, He is the Bread of life, his flesh is REAL food and his blood REAL drink.(John 6:55) after a while of hearing this the multitudes reply, as i am sure many of us would do, "this is a hard saying who can listen to it ?" (vs. 60) basicaly what i read is.. man that sounds pretty gross, how could anyone go and mow down on your flesh ? then it says "after this many of his disciples drew back and no longer went with him."(vs.66) and doesn't it seem that if he was just saying it symbolically he would catch them before they got away and clarify the situation? but no he doesn't do that, he turns to the twelve and says "will you also go away?"(vs.67) almost saying to them that if they couldn't accept this teaching then there would be no point in following any further. but then Peter steps in with his famous line "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life; and we have believed and have come to know, that You are the Holy One of God."(vs.68,69)

another passage that is really explicit is 1 Corinthians 11
"for i recieved from the Lord also what i delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed he took bread, and when he had given thanks he broke it, ans said, 'this is my body which is for you. Do this in rememberance of me.' in the same way also the cup, after supper, saying 'this cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this in rememberance of me.' For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death untill he comes. Whoever, therefore, eats this bread or drinks this cup in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and drinks judgment upon himself."(vs.23-29) the apostle Paul was trying to get across something very important, this isn't just bread and wine to throw a party, this really is the Lord and we need to respect Him as such.
Jesus is offering his very life to us in this humble piece of bread. and unfortunately so many will not recieve Him because they can't explain it, so they explain it away.

Apostalic succession ( the authority in the priesthood past down through the ages)

to me this is the "what's so special about the Roman Catholic Church"

a simple diagram can show this the easiest way:

God the Father gave the authority to Jesus
Jesus then gave His authority first to Peter then to the apostles
the apostles handed down their authority to the bishops and priests
and this act of passing on the authority was handed down untill present day

i will post more on this subject soon
