These are similar to the ones pictured on p 17 of Fainges The Encyclopedia of Regional Dolls of the World. Purchased through Ebay September 2001.

Dolls of the World: Page of links from every country in the world

Acquired March 2002. There is a doll very similar to this in Fainges Encyclopedia of Regional Dolls of the World which is identified by the Embassy.

From the seller "Stands 15" tall on her stand. She has sequence jewels and chains and tiny bracelets. I don't know what material she's made of. Feels like cloth but it's hard in places. Carries a bronze type basket filled with seeds, flowers and grasses.

Dolls of the World

I have just begun this page to share information about my own new international doll collection and to organize data about dolls of the world.

Contribute to my page, please. I set out to add a penpal from every country in the world several years ago, just as I am now aiming for a complete survey of dolls from every country. If you have a favorite memory of a souvenir doll please share and I will incorporate your comments under the appropriate country.

To me this is a way to travel the world without leaving home, though in fact it seems to be leading to plans for a trip around the world in my future.
