GENERAL GEORGE WASHINGTON GI JOE CLASSIC COLLECTION SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION COLLECTION Second in the Commemorative Independence Day Holiday Series This doll, along with 5 others, was displayed one time at the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America in the State of Wisconsin meeting in 1999, held to commemorate the 200th year since George Washington's death. The featured speaker at this commemoration was James Rees IV, who is the Director of Mt. Vernon. He was intrigued by the doll which he had never seen before, and reportedly made inquiries to Hasbro about offering them for sale at the shop located at historic Mt. Vernon. This item is like new, as it was carefully handled at its only exhibition. It comes in its original box which shows minor signs of wear and tear, but is generally in excellent shape. Included as an extra is the 12'' doll stand used to exhibit the doll at the 1999 meeting.
