Aurora Farm is a small, family-run operation, located in the
scenic Matanuska Valley, 50 miles north of Anchorage, Alaska. Our home
is surrounded by acres of wilderness and an extensive trail system
that we use for running dogs, horseback riding, among other activities.
We have six kids ranging in age from 7 to 27. Our two main interests are
Appaloosa horses and racing Alaskan Huskies. All our kids race dogs,
including our youngest, seven year old Sierra. The horses are used for trail riding, breeding,
4H, and open shows. We are interested in breeding Appaloosas that are
good using horses of the western type. Color, athleticism, and temperament are important.
Our horses are from champion performance and halter bloodlines, while our racing Alaskan Huskies and *Eurohounds* are from
some of the best bloodlines the sport has to offer.
Gardening is another interest of ours, and every year we compete in the Giant Cabbage Weigh-Off at the
Alaska State Fair.
