There they were, walking on the beach together holding hands. Then he stopped and VJ looked up. She saw Brian's sparkling blue eyes as he looked down at her.

"I have something to tell you," he said.

"What is it, Brian?" VJ asked, feeling both eager and afraid to hear the answer.

Brian looked her straight in the eye. "I think I've fallen in love with you."

VJ saw the look in his eyes and knew he meant it. "I think I've fallen in love with you, too."

Brian smiled as he put his arms around her waist and pulled her closer. Then, slowly, he leaned down to kiss her. Right when their lips were about to touch....

"RRRRIIIINNNGGGG!!!!"

The phone rang.

VJ's eyes jerked open and she sat up quickly. When she realized it was the phone, she sighed, flopped back down on her bed, and closed her eyes. The phone continued to ring. VJ looked at the clock beside her bed and saw it was 9:30am. With a groan, she picked up the phone.

"If your name's not Brian Littrell, then I'm hanging up."

"Sorry to disappoint you, but it's not," Brianna Jackson said, laughing.

"Hi, BJ," VJ said to her best friend.

"Hello, VJ. Who's Brian Littrell?"

"He's this guy I met in the mall yesterday while I was waiting for my brother and his friends to show up," VJ told her. "You should've seen him, BJ. He is gorgeous and beyond. He's really nice, too."

"Sounds perfect," BJ said. "Are going to see him again?"

"I gave him my number and he said he'd call. I really hope he does. He has the cutest southern drawl."

"Southern drawl? Where's he from?"

"Lexington, Kentucky. He moved here a little over two years ago."

"Wow. Does he have a gorgeous friend you hook me up with?"

VJ laughed. Leave it to BJ to find a way to benefit from her meeting a guy.

"He didn't say. But he left with a tall blonde-haired guy and a blonde-haired girl. He looked kind of young, though. But he had his arm around the girl, even though she looked younger than the guy."

"Maybe it was a relative," BJ reasoned.

"No. The way I saw it, you just don't do that with a relative. I don't know. But then, how could I expect a guy like that to be single. I shouldn't even be surprise at the thought that he might have a girlfriend." VJ sighed.

"I wouldn't know. I didn't see him," BJ said. "Just think positive. Anyway, I called to see if you were going to enter that talent competition the school is putting on."

"Of course. Are you?"

"You know it. How about we do a duo this year?"

"Sounds good to me. I think the school will be in for a surprise."

"I think so, too. Well, I have to go. My dad wants me at work in an hour and I have yet to get ready."

"If you keep showing up late, your dad is going to fire you," VJ told her.

"He can't fire me. My mom won't let him," BJ said.

VJ laughed. "Okay. I'll see you later."

"Alright. Bye."

"Bye." VJ hung up.

She lay back down on her bed and thought about Brian. He really did seem nice, and she hoped against hope that he didn't have a girlfriend. As she lay there thinking, the phone rang again.

"Hello?"

"Hi. May I speak to Victoria please?" asked the voice on the other end.

"This is her. Who's this?" VJ smiled. She knew exactly who it was, but she didn't want him to know that.

"I'm hurt you don't recognize me. Just kidding. It's Brian," he said.

"Oh, hi, Brian. How you doin'?" VJ asked.

"I'm alright. How about you?"

"I'm doing fine. So, what's up?"

"Well, I was wondering if you're doing anything today."

"Not much. Why?"

"What do you say to me and you going to Universal Studios?"

"For real?"

"Yeah. I'm on a sort of vacation right now, so I figure I'd make the best of it."

"Oh. Then I say, sure, why not?"

"Alright. Cool. What time should I pick you up?"

"Um, why don't we meet at a restauraunt? That way we can have lunch and get to know each other a little better."

"That's fine with me. Just tell me where."

VJ gave Brian the name of a little cafe that she loved to go to and they agreed to meet at 11:30am. After everything was planned, they said their goodbyes and hung up. VJ lay in her bed for a little while longer, then got up to get ready for her day out with Brian.

Brian walked out of his bedroom, and into the kitchen with a big smile on his face. He saw Nick and BJ in there, sitting at the table, eating cereal. They both looked over at him.

"What's the smile for?" Nick asked.

"Well, Kaos, it just so happens that I have a date with Victoria in a few hours," he told them.

"You called her?"

"No, they talked through mental telepathy," BJ said, sarcastically. "Yes, Nick. He called her."

Nick threw in evil look her way, then turned back to Brian. "What are you doing?

"We're going out to lunch, then to Universal Studios."

"Wow. You're going all out for this girl," Nick commented.

"We only have two weeks off before we start touring again. I want to make the best of them." Brian grabbed an apple out of the fruit bowl and took a huge bite out of it.

"Do you guys have anything planned today?" Brian looked at Nick and BJ.

"Well, we were going to stay here, but I think we'd rather go to Universal Studios," Nick said. BJ quickly nodded.

"No way. You are not butting in on my date," Brian said, firmly.

"We're not. It's like you said. We're off for two weeks. That means I have just two weeks to spend with my adorable little sister here. And my two other adorable little sisters. Oh, and my adorable little brother." Nick smiled innocently.

"For one thing, BJ and Aaron have been on tour with us for the last two weeks. Another thing, Leslie and Angel aren't here and I'm not driving to Tampa to go pick them up. Last, if you wanna go, I'm dropping you off at Universal Studios before I meet up with Victoria."

"That's fine with us," BJ said. "But you still have to bring us back."

"Okay. We'll meet up with you guys at the entrance about 4:30pm or 5:00pm. Got it?" Brian asked them.

They nodded.

"Alright then. Go get ready. We're leaving in an hour and a half."

Nick and BJ quickly got up from the table and put their dishes away. Then, went to the rooms they were sleeping in to get ready. Brian looked at them and shook his head.

"Why do I let these things happen to me? I'm just too nice," he said to himself, then headed for his own room to get ready.
