6 more months later....

"Does this shirt go with these pants?" Lila asked, looking at herself in the mirror.

"What?" Adonica asked, coming out of her daze.

"Adonica, would you stop spacing out?! It's our one year anniversary. Can you believe it? AJ and I have been together for a year."

"So have me and Brian."

"You've been this way all week. What's wrong?" Lila sat down next to Adonica on the bed.

"I'm worried that Brian and I are over. I've liked Brian Littrell forever. Ever since I first saw him in that magazine when I was thirteen years old. He was nineteen at the time. Nineteen!! Now I'm eighteen and I've been with him for a year. It was exciting the first couple of months. I was like 'I can't believe I'm Brian Littrell's girlfriend'. But now, I don't know what I feel."

"How long have you been feeling this way?"

"Since we got back from Spain."

"If you've been feeling this way for a while, why are you still with Brian?"

"I was hoping the feeling would go away and everything would go back to normal."

"And what feeling is that?"

"That I'm in love with Nick. It's just my luck he's Brian's best friend."

Lila sat there, looking at Adonica, trying to figure out her life. Lila knew there was nothing she could say to make anything Adonica talked about all right. It was up to Adonica to make her choice.

There was a knock on the door. Lila got up to answer it. AJ came in with red roses and a big teddy bear holding a heart that said "I Love You". Lila didn't pay much attention to those and jumped on AJ. Adonica watched them and felt more alone. She watched as they hugged and kissed each other like they hadn't seen each other in years, instead of six months.

Adonica remembered what that was like with Brian. This was the second time she would see him in person. She used to get excited whenever she saw Brian on TV or on the cover of a magazine, but not anymore. Of course, Adonica was proud of Brian and his success in achieving his dream, but she knew she didn't love him. She had to tell him and soon.
