Chapter   Two

One thing I forgot to mention, our boyfriends are actors. My boyfriend, Jenson, is on the soap opera, "Days of Our Lives", Skye's boyfriend, Seth, is into movies (Can't Hardly Wait), and is now a cast member on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". Crystie's boyfriend, Scott, was on a teen show called "Breaker High", and does some TV movies also. They were all friends before we met them. We all eventually hooked up with each other. Not the way we wanted to, at first, but that's another story.

Anyway, the guys were working on a movie, which is why we were in Los Angeles, staying in a somewhat fancy hotel. We all met up in a park in north LA when Jenson got a phone call from the director saying they needed to shoot a scene that had been rewritten. Now, us girls were at the soundcheck waiting for the Backstreet Boys to show up, by ourselves.

"Why don't we practice our dance routine," Skye said.

"All right," I said, "I'll put our tape in."

I grabbed our radio out of the car, which wasn't parked too far away, put in the tape and turned the volume up almost to the max. "We've Got It Goin' On" blasted out of the speakers. We started the routine, having fun, messing around. Finally, we did the whole routine the way it was supposed to be done. Our dance class came up with the routine, but Skye, Crystie, and I suggested we do the routine to a Backstreet Boys song. The rest of the class liked them a lot, too, so they agreed.

Back to the subject, we were so busy doing the routine, we didn't even notice the group had shown up with the crew and other people. When we were done, we heard applause to our left. We looked to see who it was and there were the Backstreet Boys, smiling and clapping in all their glory. Skye, Crystie, and I stood there in shocked silence for a few seconds. Crystie was the first to speak up.

"Hi, I'm Crystie. Did you really think it was that good?" she asked.

"Yeah, it was really that good," said Brian Littrell.

"Hi, I'm Angelica, but my friends call me 'Angel', and this is Skye," I said. Skye waved to them.

"My name is Brian Littrell. This is Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson, Howie Dorough, and AJ McLean," Brian said.

"We know," Crystie said. "We're really big fans of yours. We have been forever. At least, me and Angel have."

"You two look alike," Kevin said, looking at me and Crystie. "Are you two sisters?"

"Cousins," we said at the same time.

"Really," Kevin said, somewhat surprised. "Brian and I are cousins, too."

"We know," Crystie said.

"What else do you know about us?" Brian asked, looking right at Crystie.

"Well, we knew what time your soundcheck was," I said. "We also know that the Backstreet Boys is one of the best musical groups around. THE best one, actually."

"Thank you," said Nick, looking at me. I smiled and he smiled back.

We all just kind of stood there, trying to figure out what to say next. I looked at Crystie and Skye. They were having staring contests with Brian and AJ. I looked back at Nick and it seemed like he was checking out what the rest of the group was doing. Kevin was looking at all of us. So was Howie. They wanted to see what would happen next.

"So," Nick said, "where are you girls from?"

"I'm from Barstow," I said.

"I'm from Apple Valley," Skye said.

"And I'm from New Mexico," Crystie said.

"We passed by Barstow coming to LA," said Nick.

"We passed by Apple Valley, too," said AJ.

"I don't think we passed through New Mexico, though," Brian said.

"That was not cool," said Crystie. "I was hoping the tour would take you guys through to Albuquerque. Then Angel called me and asked me if I wanted to go to the concert out here in LA, so here I am."

"We're sorry to disappoint a fan," said Kevin.

"That's okay. She was supposed to come out here anyway," I said.

"Come on, guys," said Howie. "We have to go inside for a run-through of the show tonight. You girls want to come in and watch?"

"If they come in and see the whole show, it won't be a surprise later on tonight," AJ said.

"We don't mind," Skye said.

"Besides, everything will look better on in the dark later on, don't you think, Nick?" I said, looking at him.

"Right," he said, laughing.

Nick offered his arm to me, like in one of those old romance movies. Of course, I took it. I, then, took Kevin's arm and they led me inside. I looked back and saw Skye taking AJ's arm, and Crystie taking Brian's and Howie's. I kept thinking to myself, I can't believe this is happening and judging from the looks on Crystie's and Skye's faces, they couldn't either.
