"You're going to do what?" Jenson asked, surprised. I had just told him about performing the dance routine at the concert. "Why would you want to do that?" he continued. "You told me you were afraid to perform in front of more than a hundred people. Now you're going to perform in front of thousands?"

I couldn't believe Jenson was being so unreasonable about the whole thing. I thought he would be thrilled to see me up on stage. Obviously, I thought wrong.

"It seems like a perfectly logical way for me to get over my fear. Jenson, this is something I want to do. Please say you're behind me on this." I looked at him. "I thought you'd be happy for me."

Jenson looked at me for a second. "I am," he said. "This just caught me by surprise, that's all."

"I know. It just happened so fast. I never dreamed the Backstreet Boys would ask us to perform with them." I had this huge smile on my face. Jenson noticed this.

"I guess meeting them turned out to more exciting than you thought it would be," he said. He didn't sound too happy. I couldn't imagine what he could find wrong with this situation. I walked over to him.

"Don't you think this is the greatest thing? Now you get to say it's your girlfriend that's up there on stage tonight, dancing." I gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Besides, I couldn't back out now, even if I wanted to. I already said I'd do it and it would look totally unprofessional if I backed out now. And the uniforms have already been paid for, by the Backstreet Boys I might add."

"What about the other girls," Jenson asked. "Are they going up on stage with you?"

"Of course they are. I wouldn't go up on stage without them. I can't wait to see what my uniform looks like on me." I held it up in front of me while I looked in the mirror. I saw Jenson looking at me looking at myself. He had this look in his face that said he felt like he was seeing me for the last time.

"Come on, Jenson," I said. "What's really wrong?"

"I'm just afraid of losing you. You just met your most favorite music group in the whole world. One of them you just happen to be sprung on. I have a right to be worried. I guess it's just my insecurities coming out." He forced a smile. I didn't like seeing him like this.

"You have nothing to worry about," I assured him. Even though I didn't totally feel that way, I said it anyway. "It's just for one night. You'll be the envy of every guy there. You, Scott, and Seth."

"We also get to hear exactly what the guys around us would like to do to you girls. That's not exactly a plus side," he pointed out.

"Well, just don't start a riot punching him out. That would be embarrassing," I said. I gave Jenson another kiss, this time on the lips. After about five minutes, there was a knock on the door. I pulled away from Jenson and went to answer the door. I opened it up and saw Nick standing in the doorway.

"Hey, Angel," he said, smiling. "You ready to go?"

"Hey, Nick," I said, smiling back. "Yeah, I'm ready. I just have to get my outfit. Come on in." I grabbed Nick by the arm and pulled him inside the room. He just stood by the door, so I walked over to Jenson and pulled him toward Nick.

"Nick, this is my boyfriend, Jenson Ackles," I said. "Jenson, this is Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys." I watched them as they sized each other up. Finally, Nick spoke up.

"Nice to meet you."

"Likewise."

"I really like your character on 'Days of Our Lives'."

"Thanks. So, Angel told you about me?"

"Of course I did," I said. "Did you think I wouldn't?"

"I asked her," Nick said, "so she told me."

All of a sudden each of us ran out of things to say. You could feel the tension in the air. I couldn't take the silence anymore, so I spoke up.

"Maybe we should leave now, Nick. We wouldn't want to be late."

"Yeah, you're right," Nick said, looking down at me. "It would be kind of strange if the main attraction was late. Maybe I'll see you around sometime, Jenson," he said.

"You're going to the show, right, sweetie?" I looked at Jenson.

"Of course. I wouldn't miss it. I'll be there. Front row, center stage." He was talking to me, but he was looking at Nick.

"All right. Then, I'll see you later." I walked over and gave Jenson a kiss goodbye. Then, Nick and I left. Neither Nick or I said anything until we were in the van.

"That was a pretty tense meeting," Nick said.

"What was a pretty tense meeting?" asked AJ, turning around in his seat in front of us. He looked at both of us, waiting for an answer.

"I met Angel's boyfriend just now. It was nothing really. It was just kind of awkward," Nick explained.

"I know what you mean, Nick. I had the same thing happen with Skye's boyfriend. Very tense."

"You two aren't the only ones," Brian said, from the seat behind me and Nick. "The same thing happened with me and Crystie's boyfriend. I sense a pattern developing here."

"Are your boyfriends always like this when they meet other guys you know?" AJ looked at Skye.

"No. They're usually very friendly," she said. "Unless...." Skye looked at me and Crystie.

"Unless they feel threatened," Crystie and I finished together.

"What have they got to feel threatened about?" asked Nick.

"Absolutely nothing," I said. "Just forget about it, guys. It's just their jealousy coming out."

"Yeah. This hasn't happened for so long, we just didn't expect it," Crystie said. "If it offended you guys, we're sorry."

"It's all right. I guess we should get used to this kind of thing happening," Brian said. "We just never really had to come face-to-face with it like we did tonight."

"True enough," said AJ. "We don't meet our fans' boyfriends often."

"Well, you don't have anything to worry about," Skye said. "We know how to keep our boyfriends in line. Right, girls?"

"Right," Crystie said. I nodded in agreement. Then the three of us burst out laughing. Nick, AJ, and Brian laughed with us. I didn't notice at the time, but now that I think about it, maybe our boyfriends did have something to worry about. They saw the trouble lying ahead before the rest of us did. I guess we were too caught up in trying to keep it on the friendship level, our relationships with Nick, AJ, and Brian moved to the next level without any of us knowing it.
