“The surprises aren’t over yet,” he said. “One more song to go. It’s time for the ‘bride-and-groom’ dance. This song was picked out by your best man and groomsmen. In fact, they made arrangements to have the original singers come out and do the song. The song is called ‘The Earth, The Sky, The Rain’ and help me in welcoming the singing group ‘Color Me Badd’.”
The crowd applauded loudly as some of the younger guests let out excited yells. The older adults clapped but they couldn’t remember who the group was. Destiny started jumping up and down, which is kind of hard to do in a wedding dress. She loved Color Me Badd when she was younger. The four guys came out and waved to everyone.
“Hey, everbody,” said one of the guys. “I’m Bryan Abrams. We haven’t been ‘Color Me Badd’ for a while, but when Howie of the Backstreet Boys called me, said one of them was getting married and they wanted us to sing one of our songs at the reception, I had to call the rest of the guys to tell them about it. We all thought it would be cool to do this for some guys who say we inspired them musically. Who can refuse an invitation like that?” The audience laughed. One of the guys gave the signal to start the music. “Anyway, I thought it would be even better if it was the original members. So, here we go. From your best friends, this is dedicated to the groom and his beautiful bride, Alex and Destiny McLean.”

By the end of the song, AJ was finally able to believe that the woman he was holding so close to him was his wife. He looked at Destiny and she smiled up at him. That smile sparked the flame of desire he had for her. He’d come to realize that it had always been there since the first time they met and he hoped it would be there forever. He didn’t need anybody else except the woman in front of him. The crowd applauded loudly after the song. AJ and Destiny walked over to the group.
“Thank you so much for coming,” Destiny said. “I was such a huge fan of ‘Color Me Badd’. I even taped the episode when you guys were on ‘90210’.”
“It was our pleasure,” said Sam Watters. “It’s kind of nice to sing with the guys again.”
“Well, why don’t you all stay for the rest of the reception?” AJ invited. “Eat, drink, dance, help us celebrate.”
“Thanks, man,” said Kevin Thorton. “I’m up for it. What do you guys think?”
“Yeah, sure,” said Mark Calderon.
The four guys were led over to a table towards the front. Several of the guest, mostly girls, went over to them and asked for autographs. AJ and Destiny went to the head table where the wedding party was sitting. The couple thanked them for the gift. Destiny looked over at Estella, who was talking to a guy she had invited to the wedding. Then she looked at Nick, who was watching Estella talk to the guy. She turned to look at Mandy, who was talking to the guy she invited to the wedding. I hope Nick does right by my sister, Destiny thought. I’d hate to see Estella get hurt. She also looked at Hope and Jerald. I also have another sister to worry about, she thought. Well, Jerald seems like an honorable man. Much like Kevin. Destiny shook her head and put those thought in the back of her mind.
Destiny had a great time talking to all the guys from Color Me Badd. She found out that Sam and Kevin had left the group and the remaining members got replacements, but soon broke up after that. She asked them if they would ever do a reunion thing. They all shook their heads, saying her wedding reception was their reunion thing. Sam told her he was working as a writer and producer for a upcoming singer named Jessica Simpson. Destiny had heard of her, but never heard her sing before. Sam said her album would be out in a couple months, but at the end of August, she would be on the UPN Summer Music Mania event. Destiny decided to make sure and watch.
Soon, all the festivities were over, the guests had started to depart, and it was time for AJ and Destiny to hop in their limo and catch their flight to Maui. They would be spending two weeks on the sunny beaches of Hawaii. The guests waved until the limo disappeared completely from view. There were still a bunch of fans around and the guys decided to sign a few autographs. Afterward, Brian, Kevin, Nick, Howie, Leighanne, Kristin, Mandy, Estella, Claudia, Jerald Jr. and Hope went back inside to help clean up.
