Reason to the Rhymes, or, Why should I come out and Play?

A Bardic Circle FAQ

What is Bardic, or Why Do We Do What We Do?

Bardic was created to give people a place to share their knowledge. It is a place to bring songs, stories, or poems you know or have written, and share them with a supportive group. We can either give constructive critisizm on what you have written, or help you with your performance of a song you wnated to share. Keep in mind, though, while none of us are trained professionals, many of us do have knowledge of the fields of music and literature. Many of us are also trying to break into said fields, and can lend a sympathetic ear. We help our fellow Bards to get the creative juices flowing: sometimes you have no clue where to go with a story or a song. Perhaps someone here can give you an idea. We also have a repetiore of many songs (check out the Archive!), stories and poems that members have either written or presented over the years. We draw upon this arhcive in our performances, most notably for the CUPS Samhain Fair, the showpiece of CUPS happening the week of Halloween every year.

Do I have to be professional to join?

Oh, hell, no! We're all about having fun above all else. Any level is welcome, and constructive criticism is always available. There is no screening or admission or tryout process for Bardic. You can come to one session, or all of them!

Any cost?

Never. Absolutely no fee, donations, or hats passed around (Except as frisbees). Ever.

Can I bring whatever I want?

Our contributions to date range from lightbulb jokes to folk songs to Weird Al Yankovic marathons. Bring whatever you want. (Maybe if you do, Laurie'll never sing that blasted Corbie song again! -Webmaster Fyre).
