"Texas Sheet Cake"


The Cake
What you need...
How much of it...
Margarine 2 sticks
Powdered Cocoa 3 or 4 tablespoons
Water 1 cup
Flour 2 cups
Sugar 2 cups
Baking Soda 1 teaspoon
Eggs 2, any size
Sour Cream Or Buttermilk 1/2 cup
Vanilla 1 teaspoon
Salt 1/2 teaspoon

How To Prepare...
Bring to a boil margarine, cocoa and water. Remove from heat. Stir in remaining ingredients. (Batter will be thick, like Brownie batter.) Pour into a greased and floured large rectangle cake pan. Bake at 350 for about half an hour. Do NOT overcook!

Variations...
Use regular milk instead of sour cream or buttermilk.


The Frosting
What you need...
How much of it...
Margarine 1 stick
Powdered Cocoa 4 tablespoons
Milk 6 tablespoons
Powdered Sugar 1 box
Vanilla 1 teaspoon
Chopped Pecans Or Walnuts 3/4 cup

How To Prepare...
START MAKING ABOUT 5 MINUTES BEFORE CAKE IS DONE! Bring to a boil the margarine, cocoa and milk. Remove from heat and add the powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts. Spread over cake when the the cake is removed from the oven.
