Resurrection

  1. WHAT IS RESURRECTION?
  2. WHAT BLESSINGS ARE OURS BECAUSE OF JESUS' RESURRECTION?
  3. HOW DOES IT AFFECT YOU TO KNOW THAT YOU WILL DIE AND BE RESURRECTED?
  4. WHY DO YOU THINK IT WAS IMPORTANT THAT THE RESURRECTED LORD APPEAR TO EARTHLY WITNESSES? WE ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE MUCH ON COMPLETE FAITH, WHY WAS THIS WITNESS SO IMPORTANT?


Witnesses Of The Resurrected Lord

  1. Joseph of Arimathea, probably a member of the Sanhedrin, went to Pilate and requested that he be allowed to take the body of Christ, prepare it, and bury it.
  2. Imagine for a moment the scene amongst the Lord's faithful followers.
  3. READ LUKE:1-8. Mary Magdalene and other women learn of the risen Lord.
  4. READ JOHN 20:1-10. Peter and John learn that the Lord is no longer in the tomb.
  5. READ JOHN 20:11-18. Mary Magdalene sees the risen Lord.
  6. Mark 16:10-11: "And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not."
  7. READ LUKE 24:13-32. On the road to Emmaus.
  8. READ LUKE 24:36-43. Jesus appears to 10 of the apostles.
  9. READ JOHN 20:24-29. Doubting Thomas.
  10. WHO ELSE, IN ADDITION TO THOSE MENTIONED THUS FAR, HAVE WITNESSED THE RESURRECTED LORD?
  11. The 3rd appearance of the Savior to his apostles.
