  7. NOTE:  Given the complex nature of the Book of Revelation, this outline will adhere closely to the information provided in the Teacher's Manual.

Chapter 1:  Symbols Representing Parts of The Church of Jesus Christ

  1. Revelation 1:1-3:  "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

  2.     "Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
        "Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand."
  3. READ REVELATION 1:12-20.  John sees seven candlesticks.Candlestick representing the seven churches.
  4. WHERE WAS THE SAVIOR IN RELATION TO THE SEVEN CANDLESTICKS?
  5. WHAT WAS THE SAVIOR HOLDING IN HIS RIGHT HAND WHEN HE STOOD IN THE MIDST OF THE SEVEN CANDLESTICKS?
  6. WHAT CAME OUT OF THE SAVIOR'S MOUTH IN THIS VISION?
  7. WHAT OTHER SYMBOL DID THE LORD POSSESS IN THIS REVELATION?

Chapters 2 & 3:  Blessings Promised To Those Who Overcome

  1. "Chapters 2 and 3 contain the words of the Lord to each of the seven branches of the Church in Asia.  The Lord reviewed some of the strengths and weaknesses in each branch and warned the Saints to correct their weaknesses." (Teacher's Manual, p188)
  2. To Ephesus - Revelation 2:1-7.
  3. To Smyrna - Revelation 2:8-11.
  4. To Pergamos - Revelation 2:12-17.
  5. To Thyatira - Revelation 2:18-29.
  6. To Sardis - Revelation 3:1-6.
  7. To Philadelphia - Revelation 3:7-13.
  8. To Laodicea - Revelation 3:14:22.

Chapter 12:  How The Saints Overcome Satan

  1. As part of his revelation, John saw a symbolic version of the War in Heaven and its continuation on earth.
  2. READ REVELATION 12:1-2, 5.  A great wonder in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun.
  3. Chapter 12 refers to a dragon.
