~"nights"~

"What are we going to do tonight?" Kayla questioned as they walked back to the cabin after dinner. It wasn't fully dark yet, but the stars had started to appear throughout the sky.

"Do you have a television in your room?"

"Yeah, we do. It's in some cupboard thing. Wanna come over and watch?"

"What about the others? There isn't much room."

"We can all squash up in there some way, it's possible." Kayla laughed.

"Hey?"

They came to a stop. "Yeah?"

"Don't you want to be alone with me?"

Kayla let her eyes gaze out onto the ocean. "I do Ike, it's just that, what I said on the phone and all, plus it is our first night. If we all camp in the same room, it will be fun. Ya know?"

Ike smiled, and dismissed his thoughts for the time being.

"Sure Kayla. We will have fun tonight."

"As long as those two don't fight" she groaned.

"I think they'll be okay, especially when they come to their senses. Hopefully that won't take too long."

Ike took Kayla's hand and they sat down on a chair together, watching the world move along.

This felt really strange. Extremely comfortable, but really, really strange. Keryn looked down. He was holding her hand. There was no way that they were going to get out of this one. No matter what, they were a couple at the moment. And, she did have to admit, It was great. Everything she wanted since she was ten was happening now.

Keryn and Taylor headed into their corridor. "So, I guess I'll see you tomorrow?" Taylor smiled.

"You sure will" Keryn giggled as she looked at their door. There was a note on there from Kayla.

"What's that?" Taylor questioned as Keryn opened the letter.

Keryn, don't let Tay go, we are all camping out in our room tonight, just go in there and get some blankets and that ready... see you soon. -Kayla XOX

"I'm guessin' it's the four of us in this room tonight" She nervously pointed at the door.

Taylor took a long breath. "Interesting..."

"Go get some junk from your room. This'll be fun!!"

Seeing her happiness, Taylor brightened. He was feeling great at the moment and this would make it all better.

"Are we telling Ike and Kayla?" Taylor asked just before opening his door.

"Oh, let them find out for themselves, that could be funny" she giggled opening the door.

"See you soon."

"I hope so, hurry up." They smiled and walked into their rooms.

"So, whos idea was this?" Taylor asked when Ike returned to his room that evening.

"It was both of ours. See, the girls might get a bit scared if they are alone on the wavy sea tonight" Ike laughed.

"Haha, don't let Kayla and Keryn hear you say that!"

"Speaking of Keryn, don't wreck tonight Taylor. I saw you two guys at dinner."

Taylor thought that this could be some fun. "Oh, don't you worry. I won't even be speaking to her. Ike, ya know what?"

Ike was angry with his brothers swing of feelings. "What Tay?"

"I don't even know what I seen in her. I mean, we aren't really friends anymore. We fight too much, you know?" Taylor was trying to be serious, and not crack some sort of smile.

"Tay, get out of my face. I don't want to hear any of your love crap anymore. You are obviously too young. You can't just go around hurting people like that!" Ike was starting to shout. Taylor thought he was going a bit too far, so decided to stop.

"Sorry Ike. So, what do we have to take next door?"

"Nothing much, just take something to sleep on."

"Cool." Taylor thought that Keryn might let him sleep in her bed, so he decided not to bother.

"Are we going now?" Ike demanded, still cold with his brother.

"Sure Ike." Taylor smiled and headed out of the room.

Next door things were going the same way.

"I mean, I seriously don't know what I seen in him. He totally doesn't understand me."

"Yeah, sure Keryn. I don't wanna hear it. If you fight tonight, I am sending you up to the deck and you can sit and watch those violin people. BY YOURSELF!"

Just as Kayla finished her sentence there was a knock at the door.

"I'll get it!" Keryn offered.

"I mean it."

Keryn laughed at Kayla and opened the door. "Ikey poohs!" She beamed. She looked at Taylor standing behind, about to burst into laughter. She rolled her eyes at him. "And you."

Kayla opened the door wide enough for the boys to burst in. Keryn and Taylor, still playing their game, pretended not to make any contact. Ike and Kayla watched. It was too much. Kayla had to say something.

"Okay you guys, this is so stupid. You have to get over this little stupid fights you have all the time. Dont you realise how much you mean to each other? Dont lose something that you both treasure just because of a misunderstanding or because of jealousy." Ike nodded seriously along with Kayla and the other two tried to cover their giggles. " So you better shape up, cos I dont want to spend a holiday with two brooding poodles." By now Keryn and Taylor were in full on laughter. Kayla looked unimpressed. "What?"

Taylor smiled cheekily and went over to Keryn gave her a kiss and a hug. Kayla and Ike’s mouths dropped open.

"Hey Kayla, save the speech we sorted it out after dinner."

Kayla laughed and said..

"So I just made a complete fool out of myself right?"

"Well basically yeah." Tay laughed back.

They all collapsed in giggles and settled down with their respectable partner. This was to be a night of firsts. Tay and Keryn weren’t going to fight and the four of them were all together and happy. It felt good. It felt more than good. Until they started to fight about what movie to watch….

Ike woke up. It took him about 30 seconds to figure out where he was. His brother was sprawled out across the floor with his arms around Keryn and Kayla was curled up in fetal position. It looked funny. It was semi dark, the light from the moon was just enough to make out the shapes. But it was errie. Across the room Taylor stirred and snuggled back into Keryn. Ike smiled. His brother was at least happy at last. It had taken them so damn long to realise and he just prayed they made the most out of it. They better. Kayla sighed and turned over. She simply flipped herself over while still rolled in a ball. It was weird to watch. She had obviously been sub-consciously doing it all her life. He smiled to himself. Lying next to her he traced his hand up and down her back. He felt her breath out and her head sleepily turned to look at him. With a face of confusement she asked,

"Ike?"

Ike just patted her on the back.

"It’s cool. Go back to sleep"

Within a second she had turned over and fallen asleep. He listened to her breathing regulate. The night glittered with happiness. He fell asleep.

"Just call…" urged Tay.

"no I haven’t decided yet..do I want poached eggs or scrambled?"

Keryn opened one eye to see Taylor waving the phone around as Kayla started at the menu. In what seemed to be GREAT deliberation.

"Kayla who cares..whatever you dont have today you can have tomorrow."

"True..but I still have to consider all the choices."

Taylor rolled his eyes. Keryn couldn’t stand it any longer.

"Can you two pleeease do this somewhere else?"

Taylor and Kayla turned to look at her. Then, as if to explain everything Kayla said,

"She’s not a morning person."

"I know."

Keryn grunted.

"Kezza, where else can we go?" Kayla asked. "There’s a phone in the bathroom go there."

Taylor and Kayla started at Keryn on the floor. Moody Keryn on the floor. It took everything for Kayla not to laugh. She knew how to make her slightly more interested.

"Hey kezza….this spiffy little menu here has VEGEMITE!"

"NO?"

Suddenly Keryn was clutching the menu. The others laughed. Ike woke up.

"What the hell is going on??"

"Vegemite" Tay answered.

"Typical."

After breakfast in bed the all rolled into swim gear and headed up to the deck. It was a mad dash. And once they arrived on the deck everyone had to put up with Keryn’s rendition on all the Titanic quotes, "the water is freezing…yada yada yada" This was probably the main reason they chucked her in the pool.

"I can’t believe you did that in front of all these people" She cried as she shivered in the water.

"You better believe it girl" yelled back Tay as he and the others peered on from the pool edge.

Keryn was unimpressed.

"You know what. I will get all of you back when you least expect it. Yes I will. There is doubt about it you will all regret your actions."

The others looked sarcastically scared.

"No, dont look at me like that, I will get you."

"We know you will Kezza, we know" Laughed back Kayla.

As Keryn climbed out of the pool. She smiled at the un-amused guests. The others had bagged four deck chairs and were laying their towels out. Taylor was almost about to do a running bomb into the pool when he saw Keryn staring. Keryn elbowed Kayla who also began staring. Taylor followed their gaze. There stood that guy the girls had been on about. Taylor had to admit that he could be classified as ‘competition’ but he couldn’t understand the way they could just stare at him. Keryn had never stared at him. Ike didnt seemed to be seeing any of this. Taylor couldn’t help himself.

"I cannot believe you two are staring at him."

That woke Ike up.

"Who?"

"That guy over there. They have been staring at him for ages now."

Ike squinted over in his direction as the girls continued to swoon. Taylor was getting agitated.

"What has he got that I havent?"

The girls slowly turned towards Tay as if he had said a bad word.

"What?" asked Kayla almost inaudibly.

"What has he.."

"Now dear Tay" Kayla interrupted him. Ike turned to watch with interest. "This isn’t about what he has that your don’t, it is just about his unreal beauty." Kayla leant over towards Keryn and they continued to stare.

The boys shrugged their shoulders and peered at him too. This was all beyond them. Keryn took on the task of explaining.

"You see guys, it’s the way he holds himself, that smile…."

"AND BODY" Kayla shouted from her deck chair.

Ike whacked her. Keryn began again.

"He us just……special."

The girls nodded in agreement and began fussing with sunscreen. The boys continued staring. They just couldn’t understand. They watched as the girls started reading magazines. How could they dismiss the situation so fast. Basically the boys were worried. Taylor was cos Keryn had been eyeing this guy out since they arrived and Ike cos it was the first time Kayla mentioned someone else. They were uncomfortable. The looked at each other and shrugged again. They too joined the sunscreen club. All was forgotten. Until the ‘mysterious guy’ walked over, and approached them.
