Airdate: April 22, 1971

Phyllis Stephens, Darrin's mother, brings gifts for her grandchildren - a musical top for Adam, and for Tabitha, a rag doll that had been passed down from Phyllis' grandmother. While Sam and Phyllis are chatting, Adam, disinterested with his top, starts playing with the doll. Annoyed, Tabitha uses her witchcraft to get it back and makes the doll float across the room - in plain view of Phyllis. Knowing Phyllis can't overlook what she'd seen, Samantha uses reverse psychology and asks Phyllis if she has "unusual powers." The suggestion appeals to Phyllis and after going to the library for books on the supernatural, she goes home to tell her husband Frank. When Darrin comes home, Sam is about to explain what happened but Frank and Phyllis arrive. After consulting her books, Phyllis thinks that the doll is her "familiar." To convince Darrin and Frank that she's not out of her mind, she tries to command the doll to fly across the room - nothing happens. Sam decides the only thing to do is throw a scare into her - she turns Frank into a mule. Now Phyllis thinks she did that too. Sam suggests that Phyllis try contacting her grandmother for advice, and after a mock seance, Phyllis promises never to resort to her "powers" again. Then, with a twitch from Samantha, Frank is back to normal.
