The Hollywood Palace - in color!

In the 1960's "The Hollywood Palace" was a showcase for the talents of the past & present. A variety show that took it's structure from vaudeville, it starred many actors, singers & personalties we are still familiar with. With hosts like Bing Crosby, Judy Garland, Fred Astaire and Joan Crawford it gave us a chance to see them perform for us in living color. On October 1, 1966 Elizabeth Montgomery hosted the show on ABC-TV. Her major success as "Samantha" on Bewitched made her a natural choice. Her guest stars were Vic Damone, Paul Lynde (Uncle Arthur) and comic Jackie Mason. Acting as hostess to the aerial, musical & comedy acts, she also treated us to comic sketches with Lynde, a dance number with the male dancers, and a song, done beautifully I might add, with Vic Damone!

Liz's entrance consisted of this dance & "magic" sequence with the boys. She pranced, waved her arms & twitched her nose to the vocalized Bewitched theme song. To download the audio to the number click here.
