All dressed up and ready to party Moroccan style!

This page is of me, and my host sister Ikram, we are wearing 2 versions of Moroccan national costume for women.

Ikram is wearing a Kaftan which is the traditional womens dress and Moroccans only wear it for special occasions like weddings, parties and the like.

I am wearing a Djelleba which is actually a men's costume but since the mid 1900's has been worn mainly by women, this is the dress that many women wear if they do not wear western clothing also many fundamentalist women or traditional women wear the Djelleba with the hood folded over the head like a cap and a face veil, many women who dont wear western clothing simply wear the Djelleba and a scarf to cover the hair.
