Contemplativepsychoactive...

It’s a day like every other
As dictated by my erratic mind state.
Should have been a day of rejoicin’ and thanksgivin’
But it was a season spoiled by my vices, paraphernalia devices.
I call it speed. Cats around the way called it Pepsi.
For me, it’s just anotha way to escape the days in the mundane.
And avoid reflection eternally like emcees runnin’ from Talib Kweli.
But it was this very demon that caused less money and more problems.
I came home and found my mother threw my stuff out the front door
My girlfriend said she ain’t know me no more.
I said f*ck it, time for me to drive to the moon swiftly
Go to the moon at erratic speeds. On that Highway, I was the one.
The right one.
Wasn’t runnin’ from my past because the past wasn’t chasin’ me.
The past was right here next to me. Vexin me stressin me.
Got on the highway and that pepsi was sexin’ me.
Intergalactically traveling. I was closer to God as he’s blessin’ me.
Ever travel supersonically with ya eyes closed and ain’t nuthin’ loud?
The commotion was lifted off my shoulders, and I was flyin with the clouds.
But nature took its course and gravity pulled me back to the earth,
Left to contemplate the last days and the true reality of my self worth.
I subconsciously realize that Nothin’ Really Matters as Queen plays on the station.
F*ck an image of a brutha self-hatin’.
So I hit the brakes on an exit off the highway
Feelin this new strife, lookin for a new life and new vice.
Thinkin: “should I stick with this pepsi? Or grab a coke with some ice?”
Sh*t, still ain’t nothin’ special about a cool cat’s ninth life.
So I’ll chose what’s right
Narrating from the eternal night life.
