Walk With Me

Walk With Me

Don’t you like the sun’s rays when they beckon the moonlight?
An afternoon shower and a clear starry night?
I do, for I hear sermons from the trees’ outreached limbs
A cleansing seen upon the wind after each rain rescinds
I feel the embrace of life and all its excitement
I like letting my thoughts wander and wondering where my mind went
In the mystery of clouds, and the allowance of peace to shroud
My shoulders and my soul and wash away any doubts.
I like to see God working in a cacophony of life
And I see all his splendor in the black centers of your eyes
Like the center of my world to complete my being
I want you to walk with me through these quiet scenes
Hear the river sing a symphony of time as it’s flowing
Watch the shadows of our love as the dawn sunlight’s showing
I never want to be alone again, contrary to the past
I was better by myself, but no more can that last
I love you because you make me a better man as me
I love you because I want you to be the best you can be
I love you because you walk with God when you talk with me.
For this I ask for your hand so that you might walk with me…
