NorthEast Bloodhound Rescue, Inc.
Rescue is a funny thing....we can have no
dogs one week and then 5 or 6 the next!!!!
Applications are not based on first come first
serve, but rather on matching
the dog to the best home available for that
particular dog.
The average age of a rescue dog is about 18 months
old. Although we often
get older dogs, rarely do we get dogs under 9
months old.
All of our rescued bloodhounds
are spayed/neutered, as well as being
updated on any needed vaccinations and
tested/treated for heartworms
and other parasites before placement. I
recommend reading the information
available at So You Want A Bloodhound? and at BLDHOUND4U to
get a good idea about this clumsy, drooling,
affectionate stubborn hound.
They are a dog that requires a fenced yard, as they
are NOT good
about listening to the words "Come back
here."
They are fairly active and can get into a lot of
trouble if they don't get
enough exercise...my adage is "a bored
bloodhound is a destructive bloodhound!"
Please feel free to ask any
questions you might have.
