Good Morning, Good Afternoon, or Good Evening...

Well now it is the 6th of June 2005, still can't get over that 2000 thing, the 21st century... every time I write it seems strange,
and BOOM now it's 2005, 'The Space Odyssey' has come and gone... Remember 2 paper cups and a piece of string to communicate?
Now communication is instantaneous around the planet, what will they think of next?
You know now how we look at the Victorians, so I wonder how they will see us in the future...

I'd like to think 'Gene' Roddenberry (RIP) of Star Trek fame has it right, and that some day humans will evolve out
of our petty greed as groups or individuals. That we will 'grow up' as a species, devoting our energies for the benefit of
'Life on the Planet Earth' as a whole
,
but sadly this is more than likely just another romantic dream...

2001 A Space Odyssey
Have a look around!

I found in 2000 that I am diabetic, hence all the Diabetic links at the bottom...
I am learning to change my diet and all my bad habits, this is a real problem as I love to cook,
well that is not the problem, but being on that Seefood Diet, you know, I see food and I eat it...
Actually diabetes is not about food without sugar as most people think, but its is about carbohydrates,
which in turn become sugar in your system, well more on that another time...

Already 5 years of the new century over and done with, never to return...
How will you spend the next hours, days, weeks, months or even years of your life? Perhaps helping someone less fortunate?
I was told 13 years ago I would be dead in 6 months with incurable cancer.
Happy to report they were wrong. Remember
LIVE EACH DAY AS IF IT WERE YOUR LAST, AS ONE DAY IT WILL BE!

So, on a more positive note, we enjoy many things in life especially collecting sand,
working in the garden, nature, astronomy and the mysteries of space, travel, various forms of art,
and of course cooking food and much, much more. Try the LINK PAGE for some interesting links,
or our PHOTO PAGE for some assorted pictures of the wedding and friends.

We also have a quite extensive collection of Sand & Minerals and we have many of samples from all over the earth.
We share them with several schools around the world, who also teach Earth Sciences, and even now our collection is growing.
This is a great way to teach children about our Living Planet. Can you help?
Were are looking for samples from beaches, deserts, rivers, lakes, streams, creeks, volcanoes,
mountains, glaciers, in fact sand from all over the planet,
so if you or a friend are going on holiday PLEASE keep us in mind!
If you are interested click on text below more information.

The page above is dedicated to this subject, as well as photos of many of these samples,
but this link is in a re-vamp mode, so some PHOTO EXAMPLES can be seen here, and there are more to follow...

The blue really brings out my eyes, don't you think?

As I said earlier that I am diabetic, but even with diabetes, I am still fortunate as it could always be worse...
Remember, that no matter how bad you have it, someone has it even worse.
I am greatful as I live in an age and a location where I have the benefits of modern science and technology,
but even in this day and age many do not! And try to do something to help those less fortunate than yourself,
believe me there are many more than you realize!
Something we all tend to forget every day.

Yet others do not have that luxury as
EVERY 3.6 seconds someone is dying from hunger and 75% are children!
Remember that you were lucky enough to be born in a fortunate situation and
could have easily been born somewhere else, what if it were your child?

Please help the HUNGER SITE...Remember every 3.6 seconds...

    THE HUNGER SITE

If you have gotten this far you've noticed the map, and
when a country darkens on this map it represents another death from hunger.
Please take the time to check this link out daily (click on map) and help make a real difference,
the links are legitimate and you will find these links all over my pages.
