Lucerne Valley 015 after samples were cut. Scale of the graph paper lines are ruled every 2mm. Cut surface affords a view of the interior exposing two separations or voids. On the left side a smaller piece was separating from the main mass prior to the formation of the fusion crust. This gap or void is ~.7mm wide and is clearly contiguous with the fusion crust. On the right side of the image there is a smaller void where the fusion crust separated or failed to fuse to the main mass.
