TG'S CLEOPATRA'S LADY
10/9/89-1/18/99

We got her from a backyard breeder back in 1989, before we knew better. Her tail had been cropped too short and we said it looked like a bunny tail. We had one health scare about 5 years ago when we thought we'd lose her, but she was tough. She took to obedience training as if it were second nature. She guarded our home always and would awaken from a sound sleep to position her self at the door if she heard a suspicious sound outside. She loved babies, both human and canine. The picture on the left shows her with Brian on the day we brought him home. When he learned to walk she was always the one there for him to grab if he stumbled. She appointed herself the trainer of puppies and taught them the way a proper Boxer should act. Future pups who come here will be at a loss without her sweet guidance. She truly lived up to her name. She was a queen among the other dogs. Even males twice her size would back down at a certain look from Cleo. She would have been laughed out of the show ring, but I wouldn't have traded her for a Best in Show win at Westminster. Luckily, she felt the same way about me. She followed me everywhere and never let me out of her sight for more than a few minutes. In 18 years of having Boxers and all the mixed dogs from my childhood, she was the best dog I have ever had. She takes a huge piece of my heart with her and I'll miss her more than I can imagine. Sleep well girlfriend, I'll see you when I get there.
