BCSC Donates for Butuan City Flood Victims
In the continuous pursuit of community service, the Butuan Club of Southern California (BCSC) donated certain amount for the flood victims of Butuan City. The said amount was given to the Daughters of Mary Immaculate (DMI), Queen of Peace Circle of the City of Butuan, represented by its Regent, Ms. Lydia V. Moran. Handed by the BCSC representative, Mr. Totoy Balanon, the amount was an added value to their already initiated activities to purchase additional assorted goods for the food assistance and for financial assistance. The focus of the implementation of said activity was limited to the identified priority barangays where several families were affected. Financial and food assistance were distributed by the DMI to the flood victims of Barangay Baan Riverside, Diego Silang, Leon Kilat as well as its neighboring barangays. Through the strong effort of the BCSC club president, Mr. Gabby Ortiz and the dedication of its members like Mina Ladlad, Benhur Lasam and Mr. & Mrs. Totoy Balanon, immediate release of funds have been duly expedited, not to mention additional efforts of Mr. Jun Lopez and Miller Arranguez. Had it not been the strong support of the members (refer to list), funds could have not been raised on time. This was a true unity expressed once again by Butuanons abroad.
