The majority of RFA programs focuses on news and information as well as cultural features about the countries to which it broadcasts.

All broadcasts originate from RFA's Washington, D.C. Headquarters, incorporating reports from correspondents and participants throughout Asia. RFA has a bureau in Hong Kong, smaller offices in Tokyo, Taipei, Phnom Penh, Dharamsala, Bangkok and Seoul, and individual reporters in many other key locations in Asia, the USA and other parts of the world.

RFA is a state of the art digital technical facility. The Washington complex houses 11 production studios, 18 mini studios and six digital stations in Master Control. As well, all 162 broadcasters have the facility of editing programs from the integrated desktops.

RFA's innovative Web site makes both audio programming and text (in Asian languages) available for users' convenience. Also included are bulletin boards and Email features to foster on-line communication.
