Big Time Operator, take that stand. Big Time Operator swing that band. They've got a rhythm steaming hot. They're gonna put you on the spot. Big Time Operator is a 1940's style jump swing band. They have one of the most authentic sounds around.

Most of the songs that they do are covers. Lots of them are Cab Calloway tunes. They do happen to play a few of their own songs. The majority of their own songs are written by their trombone player, Shannon Dailey. He also sings a few of his own.

I saw Big Time Operator perform on New Year's Eve at MGM Studios at Walt Disney World. The Indiana Jones Stunt Show theatre was turned into a 1940's dance club. That is where BTO played. They were absolutely phenominal. They had a true big band sound to them. Warren's vocals are sweet and smooth. They played three sets (9:20pm, 10:40pm, and 12:30am). All three sets were great but the third one was the best of all. By 12:30 the band was as loose as can be. They went crazy. It was great.

I got a chance to see BTO again for the Millenium New Year's Celebration 1999 at MGM Studios. Once again it was awesome! The crowds were bigger this year and the band was at their best. I finally got to meet up with Mike Holguin (drummer) face to face. Does the word Krupa come to mind??? He attacks the drums like there is no tomorrow.
