Chapter Two Lynn sat outside and glared at her sister. "How could you fix me up with that stupid fag?!"
Mara sighed. "He’s… okay, he’s a jerk, but could you humor me? Just this once?" "Remember the spring dance in grade 10?" "Oh yah.." "And the time you got me a blind date for the prom??" "Okay!" She grinned. "I get the point. But could you just give him a try? I promise, if you still don’t get along after a week, I’ll butt out of your love life forever." "Promise?" "Pinkie swear. Now can we please go back?" "Only because it was fun kicking him under the table." ~* ~* ~* "Aw, come on Brian! The girls a bitch! She kicked me!" "Everybody kicks you." "But still.." Brian laughed. "You’re just mad cause she’s not falling all over herself to go out with you. One week." "7 days?" "Geez. Now I know how you did so well in math.." He grinned. "Seven days." "Okay." The girls walked inside and Mara sat next to her boyfriend. She grabbed his burger and took a big bite of it. Brian made a wounded noise and took it back. Lynn grabbed a fry off of the tray and stuck it in her mouth. "Hey, that’s mine!" Nick slid the tray towards him." Lynn sighed and opened her mouth. "Do you want it back?" Nick groaned and turned away. She giggled. Mara and Brian looked at each other with disappointed eyes. "Let’s leave them alone." He whispered. Mara nodded and suddenly gasped. Lynn looked up. "What’s wrong?" "I just twisted my ankle." She groaned. "I have really weak ankles." She added, noticing the strange looks she was getting. Brian helped her out of the chair and she limped a couple of feet. Nick stood up. "I should be leaving.." "No!" They shouted. "I mean.. don’t let us interrupt your lunch. We’ll see you later." They left Lynn and Nick alone. |
