My first kit was a Kyosho Wild Dodge Ram. My main reason for picking this one was that it was 4 wheel drive, and it had reverse! It was a very good starter truck for me since I had NO nitro experience before. I got the kit from Tower Hobbies. For someone just starting out in the hobby I would suggest getting a combo deal from Tower or a similar shop. They include everything that you'll need to get your new ride up and running, and they have some really good prices too.

Since I live in Minnesota and didn't want to pack the truck away for the winter I decided to make myself a set of skis for the front. I used some .060" aluminum that I had sitting around to form the skis and sections of plastic coat hangers for the wear bars on the bottom. In order for this to work I needed to make a hex shaped hole in the bracket to mount the ski to the front hub. Then I removed the front drive shaft so the truck would run as a 2 wheel drive. The skis are a little bigger than they need to be, but it keeps the front end up on the snow pretty well, unless it's really powdery. My next step would be to make tracks for the rear or get larger tires for more floatation. Take a look at some of the pictures of my handy work. Nothing too fancy, but it got the job done.
Well, that's it for my Kyosho Wild Dodge Ram. As a matter of fact I just recently sold this truck on .
