Casey and Shelby are the most precious things in my life. My life has not been the same since Casey was born. I know Angels are watching over each of us! I am including some things on this page that I would like to share.

I am often asked to describe the experience of raising a child with a disability - to try to help people who have not shared that unique experience to understand it, to imagine how it would feel, it’s like this…
When you’re going to have a baby, it’s like planning a fabulous vacation trip - to Italy. You buy a bunch of guidebooks and make your wonderful plans. The Coliseum. The Michelangelo David. The gondolas in Venice. You may learn some handy phrases in Italian. It’s all very exciting.
After months of eager anticipation, the day finally arrives. You pack your bags and off you go. Several hours later, the plane lands. The stewardess comes in and says "Welcome to Holland."
"Holland?!?!? You say. "What do you mean, Holland? I signed up for Italy! I am suppose to be in Italy. All my life I’ve dreamed of going to Italy".
‘But there’s been a change in the flight plan. They’ve landed in Holland and there you must stay."
The important thing is that they haven’t taken you to a horrible, disgusting, filthy place, full of pestilence, famine and disease. It’s just a different place.
So you must go out and buy new guidebooks. And you must learn a new language. And you will meet a whole new group of people you never would have met.
It’s just a different place. It’s slower-paced than Italy, less flashy than Italy. But after you’ve been there for a while and you catch your breath, you look around, and you begin to notice that Holland has windmills, Holland has tulips. Holland even has Rembrandts.
But everyone you know is busy coming and going from Italy, and they’re all bragging about what a wonderful time they had there. And for the rest of you life you will say, "Yes, that’s where I was suppose to go. That’s what I had planned."
And the pain of that will never, ever, ever go away, because the loss of that dream is a very significant loss.
But if you spend your life mourning the fact that you didn’t get to Italy, you may never be free to enjoy the very special, the very lovely things about Holland
My life is
but a weaving between my Lord and me
I may not choose the colors He knows they should be
For He can view the pattern upon the upper side
While I can see it only on this the underside
Sometimes He weaveth sorrow which seemeth strange to me
but I will trust His judgement and work on faithfully
'tis He who fills the shuttle and He knows what is best
so I shall weave in earnest leaving to Him the rest.
Not until the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly
shall God unroll the canvas and explain the reason why.
The dark threads are as needed in the weavers skillful hand
as the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.
Friends are very important in everyone's life. I am very lucky to have many true friends that I love dearly. This is for them.
True friendship continues to grow, even over long distance.
We don't have to change friends if we understand that friends change.
Love is not for me to keep, but to pass on to the next person.
It's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts.
Love starts when we push aside our ego and make room for someone else (Steiner)
Dreams are born inside each of us and that is also where they die.
Difficult things take time, impossible things take a little longer.
Tough times never last, but tough people do. (One of my favorite sayings)
Of course, the Golden Rule, do unto others and you would have them do unto you.
We all have good times and bad, it sure is nice to have a friend to go though them both with!
Grieve for your losses, and then allow yourself to dream new dreams.
Trust your instincts. Most of the time they'll lead you in the right direction.
Don't frown. You
never know who is falling in love with your smile.
Love starts with a
smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear.
Remember: Laughter IS the best medicine.
Maybe some of the following will make you laugh. We all know laughter is the best medicine and I can vouch for that.

wonder what Chinese mothers use. Perhaps toothpicks?
Why do they put pictures of criminals up in the Post Office? What are we supposed to do .
. . write to these men? Why don't they just put their pictures on the postage stamps so
the mailmen could look for them while they delivered the mail?
If it's true that we are here to help others, then what exactly are the OTHERS here for?
STRESSED spelled backwards is DESSERTS.
If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
Ever wonder what the speed of lightning would be if it didn't zigzag?
If a person with multiple personalities threatens suicide, is that considered a hostage
situation?
If a cow laughed, would milk come out her nose?
Whatever happened to preparations A through G?
If olive oil comes from olives, where does baby oil come from?
So what's the speed of dark?
Why don't they just make mouse-flavored cat food?
Is it true that cannibals don't eat clowns because they taste funny?
Isn't Disney World a people trap operated by a mouse?
Whose cruel idea was it for the word "lisp" to have an "s" in it?
Since light travels faster than sound, isn't that why some people appear bright until you
hear them speak?
How come abbreviated is such a long word?
If it's zero degrees outside today and it's supposed to be twice as cold tomorrow, how
cold is it going to be?
Why do you press harder on a remote-control when you know the battery is dead?
Since Americans throw rice at weddings, do Asians throw hamburgers?
Why are they called buildings when they're already finished? Shouldn't they be called
builts?

my desk I have a work station...
