Faith Hill

The house was packed, a sellout, and the crowd was anxious to see the biggest country music event of the summer. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's Soul2Soul tour was what everyone had been waiting for, for a long time.
The show begins as Faith walks down the stage stairway singing "This Kiss" while confetti and lights pour over the crowd. Faith sang all of her fan favorites, thirteen in all including the hits from her current Warner / Reprise-Nashville release "Breathe".
As always, Faith was vocally perfect and she was backed up by a very good, eight-piece band that included lead guitar, drums, keyboard, piano, fiddle, steel guitar, bass and rhythm guitar.
Faith spoke to the audience a few times, first telling us to forget what the person sitting next to us might think and just have a good time, and then telling us how much Tim and her wanted to do this tour, and that they were making tons of wonderful memories along the way.
The stage set changed several times. The most memorable set change occurred as the stage sunk, leaving only Faith and the piano player to perform "It Matters To Me".
Faith's performance alone would have been worth the trip and the price of admission, but there was so much more to come.

Tim McGraw

Very entertaining Bud light commercials staring Faith's husband and Tug's son played on the big screens as we waited for Tim to take the stage.
"Indian Outlaw" started to play and activity could be seen behind the curtain, the excitement was building. At the end of the song Tim appeared in his usual uniform of jeans, a black leather jacket and a cowboy hat. To get things going He sang his very popular song "Something Like That", then followed with many other favorites from his older albums as well as ones from his current Curb Records release "A Place In The Sun". Tim himself did an excellent job on vocals and acoustic guitar and was backed up by The Dance Hall Doctors who played some of the best live music I've ever heard.. Tim got the female fans stirred up on occasion singing while lying on his back and sitting on the front of the stage. Although Tim put on a great show and sang thirteen songs, some fans were diappointed that he left out "My Best Friend", "My Next Thirty Years", and "Please Remember Me". I think that anyone would agree that we were not cheated.

Together

As expected Tim and Faith returned together for the encore set and sang four duets. Yes of course they sang "Let's Make Love" and "Your Love". They finished off with a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "You Can Go Your Own Way".

The Warren Brothers

As an added treat warming up for Tim and Faith were C.M.A. award nominees The Warren Brothers. They performed a very nice acoustic set playing guitar and harmonic. They played songs from their BNA / BMG Records release "The King of Nothing" including their first single "Guilty" and the title track that is also on the sound track for an Ashley Judd film. The crowd gave them a warm reception and even sang along to their cover of the song "Drift Away".
