Sean and Richie, WGNA FM's comedic morning show hosts proved that their hearts are as big as their sense of humor when they hosted the first annual celebrity golf scramble to benefit Big Brothers / Big Sisters. The day started off very early as golfers wandered in to register and we waited for Mark and Jessica to arrive.

Mark was the first to appear. He graciously signed autographs and did a short impromptu set live on the air for WGNA, then was off like a lightning bolt to the golf links as he is an avid golfer and couldn't seem to wait to get out there. Jessica arrived a short time later and also graciously signed autographs. Jessica then ducked into the well-stocked pro shop to do a little father's day shopping. Once she finished in the shop, she came back outside and also did a brief impromptu set live on the air for WGNA.

Mark golfed through the entire tournament course. It seemed as if he would have played it twice if time had allowed. Jessica and her band ventured only as far as the driving range where many laughs were had thanks to the great sense of humor of her keyboard player and Jessica's golf swing.

After all of the golfing was done, everyone was treated to a very nice buffet lunch and full sets from both Mark and Jessica. Jessica performed several songs from her debut, Dreamworks album "Heart Shaped World". Singing well selected lyrics with a terrific voice, Jessica seemed to win the crowd over quickly as evidenced by their copious applause and cheering. Mark then came out, and when he was done talking golf with the other golfers in the crowd, he sang many of his hits including some from his new Mercury-Nashville release "Permanently" in an acoustic set stopping only to answer an incoming call from his wife on his cell phone.

It was a great day of sports and entertainment for all who participated and more importantly money was raised for a worthy cause. Hopefully this will be the first in a long series of such events.
