Alan Jackson and Sara Evans
Tuesday January 30, 2001 The Pepsi Arena Albany, New York
Story by Bill Bolton

Country superstar, ARISTA NASHVILLE recording artist Alan Jackson was in town for the first night of his new tour.

Opening for Alan was the lovely and talented Sara Evans . Sara sang a set list primarily from her current RCA-Nashville release "Born To Fly" as well as older fan favorites including her number one hit "No Place That Far". Sara has a very beautiful voice and did a terrific job getting the crowd ready for Alan.

Alan walked out onto the stage dressed in his usual cowboy hat and boots, blue jeans (complete with hole in the knee), and a blue shirt. The crowd went crazy. The first two or three rows seemed to be made up entirely of ladies and they continued to go totally wild throughout the set.

Alan sang a great set, starting off with several songs from his current album "When Somebody Loves You" including "www.Memory", "I Still Love You", and the title track, then he sang a medley of his older hits. The medley seemed to meet with mixed reaction as many were pleased that they got to hear their favorites, but displeased when they didn't hear them in their entirety.

The crowd especially enjoyed the numbers that included videos shown on the twin big screens including a tribute to his parents during the song "Home". Also much to the delight of the crowd Alan returned to the stage to sing "Mercury Blues" as an encore'. This was a fantastic night of entertainment and should be included on any true country fan's must see list.
