One terrific night of entertainment got underway as the lovely Linda Davis took the stage. This was to be a treat indeed. Linda normally headlines her own shows and is a star in her own right but she is a friend of Kenny's, so when he called her and asked her to open some shows for him she agreed, lucky us!!!

     Linda did a long set (making it more of a double show) comprised of songs from her current DreamWorks Records release I'm Yours, some fan favorites from her previous albums, she gave us a preview of one of her new songs Even Angels Fall (which I thought was really good), and did a couple of cover songs including a extraordinarily beautiful rendition of Bryan Adams' I Do It For You.

     The legendary Kenny Rogers, star of both stage and screen then took over and worked the crowd thru a sampling of favorites taken from his long list of hit albums and his current Dreamcatcher Records release There You Go Again .

     Kenny, who is a master storyteller told his stories both lyrical and not, keeping the crowd engaged with these stories and several opportunities for crowd interaction.

     Kenny also made good use of the big screen at the back of the stage, showing a very touching photographic tribute to his son and then later of course showed clips from his Gambler movies as he sang that ultra famous song.

      There was something for everyone this night. As the show ended The Champlain Valley Expo presented a very nice fireworks display off behind the stage. All in all the only complaint / question to be asked was why Kenny and Linda did not perform their duet When We Made Love? The answer may possibly be that because it was Linda's youngest daughter Rylee's first birthday, she probably wanted to get home as quickly as she could, in which case we can definitely understand and are thankful that she was here for us as long as she was.
