| It amazes me every time I hear his work that the greatest minstrel ever to walk the face of the earth was born in the twentieth century. Singer, songwriter, and flautist Ian Anderson has been making incredible music with his band Jethro Tull since the Nineteen Sixties.

 | The second in tenure is guitarist Martin Barre who is also considered to be among the world’s best. The faces have changed many times but the sound remains constant. Making up the rest of the current lineup are Doane Perry (drums), Jonathan Noyce (bass), and Andrew Giddings (keyboard).

| In concert the band delivers a set of hit songs from their multitude of albums. They didn’t play all of them but it is understandable that to cover thirty plus years of hits might take all night (sounds great to me). Yes of course they did Aqualung (my personal favorite song).

 | Along with being brilliant musicians these men are tremendous showmen. Instead of relying on lasers, pyrotechnics or the like they keep the audience entertained with skits and surprises that really make you think and the old school light show does a great job of taking you back to where many of these songs originated.

| Jethro Tull is a band that I have wanted to get out and see ever since I was a kid. Once again I am not disappointed in the least and would whole heartedly recommend to any of you baby boomers (or so) that are contemplating making up for lost time by seeing this or any other band that has been around as long as we have, that you do so immediately.

 | I can’t wait to see this band again. I will be attending a solo acoustic performance that Ian is doing at the Troy (New York) Savings Bank Music Hall on Tuesday October 15th . Hopefully I’ll have more photos and more great things to say about this musical genius.
