Cat and I, along with Pepper, Jesse, Chris and Clyde, had an absolute blast up here!
There isnt a whole bunch left of the mill except a bunch of red bricks and some old wood planks, but from the size of the area scattered with ruins you can imagine how big it used to be! This area is just north of Virginia Lakes, one of our other pages.
The cabins are located high above the mill, at about 11,000 ft! We were here in early August and we got snowed on! There are three old cabins and they're located in a gorgeous meadow with flowers everywhere! The cabins were used by miners in the late 1800's and this meadow was called the Ward mining village. Only one of the cabins is very good shape but considering how old they are and the harsh winters they've seen, its amazing they're still standing at all!
