BORN: November 9, 1970 in New York City The son of former NHLer Ted Irvine (Rangers, Kings, Blues 1967-77), Chris Jericho is one of today's fastest rising stars.

 The family home was in Winnipeg, but he spent time in the various cities his dad was playing in. After finishing high school in Winnipeg, Jericho enrolled in the journalism program at Red River College.

 He was introduced to wrestling setting up rings for promoter, Bob Holliday in Winnipeg in 1989.

 At 19, he fulfilled a dream and entered the Hart Brothers School of Wrestling in Stu Hart's Dungeon. Two months later, he was ready to start wrestling on independent shows.

 He started out with Calgary's CNWA, teaming with fellow Hart grad Lance Storm as Sudden Impact. Later they were The Thrillseekers in Smoky Mountain Wrestling.

 Since then, his wrestling skills have taken him to Mexico, Japan, Germany, ECW and currently, WCW.

 In WCW, Jericho has won the cruiserweight title on numerous occasions, feuding with some of the top light-weights in the world. He also held the WCW TV title for a time.

 Up next for Jericho is the WWF. He signed on with the 'Fed in late June 1999.
