Information for Benjamin A. Luther

Benjamin Franklin Luther, came from Germany when he was 5 or 6 years old (@ 1842). His family settled in the United States where he married Mary Elizabeth Madlung in 1866. Benjamin and Mary Elizabeth lived in New Albany, Floyd County, southern Indiana, where all of their children were born. This information was provided by Rebecca Louise Daily, who took this information from the Luther Family Bible.

In 1970, the Benjamin Luther Bible was in the possession of his grand daughter Mrs. Lenora Humphrey's, who was living in California at the time. She sent a record of all the birth's & death's that were listed in the Bible to Larry R. Fleenor, who sent a copy to Ruth Ann (McGinnis) Gauthier in the mid 1980's.

The Luther Family Bible is in the possession of Howard William Luther, son of William Gabriel Luther, son of Benjamin Franklin Luther. Howard Luther is Rebecca Louise's brother.

18 November 1865 - A land indenture was given to Benjamin Luther - He paid $500.00.

Benjamin was educated at Anderson Bible College, his occupation was a farmer.
