    2/24.12/03 - Chinese station KMRB 1430 AM is 'non-brokered'. But, their statement, "Sinocast is a non-brokered Chinese radio station in Los Angeles, which means we own our broadcast and tower facilities" isn't quite technically correct. Their next sentence, "So unlike other Asian radio groups, we don't buy airtime from other stations" helps to correct the situation. More at www.am1430.net/about/about.htm. P.S. - In the LAT paper, this about-eight-page section was labeled as an Advertising Supplement, and at least one library chucked it, along with a 'Romantic Dining Ideas' story.

    2/1/03 - Space shuttle - the usual AM stations and the NPR FM stations have inturrupted their programs this morning to provide coverage of space-shuttle news. An official announcement didn't air till about 10-11a. The con trail from the shuttle was reportedly visible in the L.A. sky, to the south east. There were several trails this morning, so I probable saw it, along with others.
