Isn't it  a challenge to achieve a profitable fundraising event ???

Everybody competes for contributions from the same audience & usually at the same time period -  just before the winter holidays.

what was their secret in making a huge profit ?

These are some of the answers we have received :

  Selling a product is the final step of an otherwise successfully orchestrated fundraising campaign.  Just trying to sell a product is not enough.

Before starting your campaign get organized by:

Establishing Your Goals :

  How much money do you plan on raising?
  What will your expenses be?
  What are you going to use the cash for?

Name A Chairman who should:

Be reliable
Be popular &  personable.
Be Very committed to the cause.
Have enough time available.
Have organizational skills.

Select  A Committee:

Select key people.
Choose a secretary to list members; names, addresses & phone #.
Choose a reliable treasurer.

   Allow 3 month of "leg work" for a successful campaign.

  You need to advertise.  Send letters or flyers to local politicians, influential business  persons,  volunteers, parents, teachers., etc.

  Approach your  local Radio Reading Services for the Blind &  ask them to promote  your campaign, even offer to combine campaigns with them, they also need funds.

  Try to have an article written about your campaign in a local newspaper - a point of  interest to the public.

Have you done all that?  If yes, you are on the right track.

NOW THAT YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY REMEMBER ...

Which ever avenue you choose, it has to be impressive !!! 
Let your contributor feel that you want not only his/her money but you also
respect them ---  be as creative as you can.

If you have decided to make your own chocolate, make an event out of that.
Let parents, students & teachers get together & make it into a party.
Don't be afraid to charge for that event but don't forger to let everyone
take home at least 1 hand-made chocolate card,
they will love to brag about their handiwork!

 Sell it to your contributors.
  Sell ruffles to win a card or dog.
 Sell tickets for an eventful affair & offer chocolate as door prizes
  People always love 50/50 tickets.  Sell those during an event.
  You don't always have to sell the chocolates : 
        Use them as  incentives to motivate all hard working volunteers.
         Use them as Thank You Tokens for all your generous contributors,
             to all newspaper or radio station promoting your project,  etc.
