GALAXIES

That smudge of light is the Andromeda Galaxy. Believe it or not, it is the most distant object able to be seen with
the naked eye. How far? About 2 000 000 light years! A light travelling at 9.6 trillion kilometers a year will take
that amount of time for it to reach us. There's another galaxy lurking nearby. It's the Pinwheel Galaxy. Click here
if you don't know where it is.
