What kind of ticks? THE VSS

JANUARY 1995 - JULY 1997

Andy Rothbard : bass guitar, Roland Juno 6 / Josh Hughes: guitar / Dave Clifford: percussion / Sonny Kay: voices

THE VSS rose from the ashes of ANGEL HAIR in early 1995. They created something very original within this genre of bands constantly ripping off those of the past. It's a shame they had to break up. I am not going to attempt to describe their sound. With such sounds and ideas what can one say but: THE VSS.

Andy, Josh, and Dave continued playing music without Sonny under the name SLAVES.
They've released a full-length 12" on Loveletter Recordings.
These guys know interesting cover art when see it, definetly check this record out.
They are booking an October tour right now.

Since the VSS, Sonny has started a project with J. Karam called SEBPOENA THE PAST.
They have an EP out on GSL/HYMNAL SOUND called "This Year's Eclipse." They are a very dark percussion-driven band. Sonny does drum programs, keyboards, bass, and vocals; while J Karam provides further bass and keyboards. There are also a number of other musicians that made the record possible.
Another record to check out. But its only about 13 minutes long so don't expect an epiphany.
