THE DRAKE SHUFFLE

The Drake Shuffle is actually the original Shuffle Offense designed by Bruce Drake of the University of Oklahoma in the 1950's. The Deweyville Shuffle is in fact a variation of this offense. But since our main offense is the Deweyville Shuffle we will list the Drake Shuffle under the heading of a variation.

The Drake Shuffle is very similar to the Deweyville Shuffle and is the first variation we will teach after our players have mastered the Deweyville Shuffle.

All names and roles are the same in both Shuffles. The difference comes in the actions of the second cutter. In the Drake Shuffle the second cutter will cut into the lane to the basket area and then cut straight up to the post position.
