Freeport- Maine

Freeport, Maine is one of New England's favorite shopping locations, you might now it by the great outdoor store L.L.Bean’s.

Freeport, Maine area welcomes over 4 million visitors each year. It is a region where you'll find the quaintness of a Maine village extending its hospitality to a dozens of outlets and company stores, as well as specialty stores and the Harraseeket Inn, my favorite place to stay while in Freeport.

Freeport Maine offers even more like spectacular ocean views, beaches, seaside campgrounds, and the renown LL Bean’s Discover adventure programs that depending upon the season, include everything from kayaking to fly-fishing, ...

Freeport’ history is timber and fishing, and most notably, the Freeport-built clippers, within an hour's radius, you can find just about everything Maine has to offer.

Points of interest include Wolfe's Neck Woods State Park, Winslow Park with a beach on Casco Bay, and Mast Landing Sanctuary open daily for nature walks and guided tours; and we can't forget Maine's natural phenomenon - the Desert Dunes .In South Freeport Village you will find a working harbour with seafood restaurants and charter boats.

For historical information, contact the Freeport Historical Society located at 45 Main St. (207) 865-3170.

There is every type of overnight accommodations to welcome the weary traveler. Choose from homey country inns, charming bed and breakfast, and cabins in the woods, motels, and scenic campgrounds. I recommend the Harraseeket Inn on Main street just a couple blocks from all the shopping. A charming 80+ room Inn with all the amenities including indoor pool. The Harraseeket Inn has both Fine dining as well as the Broken Arrow Pub. This Inn is definitely wheelchair friendly and wheelchair accessible.
