Vancouver Island

Vancouver Island- A place of magnificent beauty but most of all splendid hospitality.

Vancouver Island is the largest island on the West Coast and stretches from the city of Victoria at its southern end to Cape Scott at the northeast tip. ‘The Island Highway’ follows the eastern shoreline of the island from Victoria through Nanaimo and Courtenay to Campbell River, where it heads inland through rugged mountains.

The Island’s lifeline is ferries and BC Ferries runs a several ferry connections to the mainland, leaving from Victoria to Tsawassen, Nanaimo to Horseshoe Bay, and Comox (near Courtney) to Powell River and the Sunshine Coast.

Taking the ferry from Horseshoe Bay, a 1/2 hour from downtown Vancouver ,you arrive 45 minutes later in Nanaimo.
