IF Friends Were

If Friends were flowers I'd pick you
To be my special friend
We'd linger in the garden
Til the sun was setting dim

If friends were rainbows in the sky
I'd reach across to you
Together we would find
The pot of gold, and share it too

If friends were snowflakes falling down
I hope you'd land on me
Because you are as rare
As any snowflake there could be

If friends were raindrops, pale and blue
That shimmer as they fall
I'd stand out in the pouring rain
To catch them one and all
