2-8-99 - These are the first shots of a good run with the new toroid and flat primary (sorry, Ross!).  Power and spark gap settings remain the same as during the previous 40" shots. (1440 watts max, and 7 gaps at .020" for a total of .140")  And there is a shot of me doing the measurement to try and give some scale to the photos.

The next step is to build a better spark gap to hopefully provide improved quenching, seal up the secondary with more clear coat to help reduce the inter winding arcs seen above.  I may also shoot a coat or two of clear on the toroid...maybe this will increase breakout voltage and capacitance even more?
