The Run of Play: East Fife were hit by injury prior to this match and had to draft in Bobby Broome (a defender) at Outside Right. In the first half, a Broome corner was partially cleared to Left-Half Donnelly, who hit a first time shot which was going wide until Centre-Half George Christie brilliantly dived to head flick the ball into the net. In the second half, East Fife doubled their lead when a Dewar shot hit Fallon and bounced to Broome, who chipped it perfectly to Andy Waddell. The Left-Winger controlled the ball before striking it with his left foot into the net.
