East Fife and Cowdenbeath have met on numerous occasions outside the three main competitions over the years. They have met in Fife Cup, Fife League, Wemyss Cup, Eastern League, Central League, Penman Cup and Wartime League matches as well as numerous friendlies. The first ever meeting between the sides was on 5 December 1903 at Bayview Park in a Fife League match which East Fife won 1-0 in front of a crowd of only 320. There has been only one meeting between East Fife and 'Cowden' in the Scottish Cup. On 5 February 1949 a record crowd of 23,500 crammed into Central Park to see Henry Morris and Charlie Fleming score East Fife's goals to record a 2-1 second round victory.
