Jock Wood

Centre Forward and team Captain Jock Wood was a prolific goalscorer during the 1920's. He arrived at Bayview from East Stirlingshire in 1926 and scored twice on his debut against King's Park at Forthbank on 27 February. Jock made eight further appearances in the black and gold before the end of the season and scored six goals in the process. The following year he captained East Fife to the Scottish Cup final and scored seven goals in the process, including his side's only goal in the 3-1 final defeat by Celtic. Jock also saw service with Manchester City, Hibernian and St Mirren. It was rumoured that he had a 'two sided penny' as he never seemed to lose the toss-up at the start of the match!
